1) If you must know, it works like this: He drives out into the wilderness near the coast, to an old abandoned lighthouse. Inside, he lights the oil lamp, and waits. Between 1 and 2 hours later, a carrier seagull arrives. He ties a message to its leg, and sends it back on its way towards the open sea. Another 1 to 2 hours later, the message arrives at my secret underwater base.
