Full Game

Digital download

The Windows version of Arx Fatalis is available at:

  • GOG.com - English-only
  • Steam - English, Français (French), Deutsch (German), Italiano (Italian), Pусский (Russian), Español (Spanish)

Under Windows, just install Arx Fatalis normally like with the cd and then use the Windows installer for Arx Libertatis. The download-only versions should already include the latest patch, so there is no reason to install it manually.

For other operating systems, there is a script to extract the GOG.com installer. For the Steam version, install Arx Fatalis normally under Windows or Wine and then see Installing the game data under Linux.

Physical copy

Boxed and CD copies of Arx Fatalis can still be found - be sure to get the PC and not the Xbox version:

Under Windows, just install Arx Fatalis normally, apply the 1.21 patch and then use the Windows installer for Arx Libertatis.

Other languages

  • 中文 (Chinese): There is a Chinese version of Arx Fatalis called 地城英雄誌 but there doesn't seem to be a legal way to obtain it.
  • 日本語 (Japanese): There is a Japanese version of Arx Fatalis called アークス・ファタリス. While it doesn't seem to be available on-line, it is listed on amazon.co.jp but shipping is limited to Japan.
  • Polski (Polish): While there is no official Polish version of Arx Fatalis, there is an unoffical text-only translation that can be used with the English version.
  • Türkçe (Turkish): While there is no official Turkish version of Arx Fatalis, there is an unoffical text-only translation that can be used with the English version.
  • 한국어 (Korean): While there is no official Korean version of Arx Fatalis (악스 파탈리스), there is an unoffical text-only translation that can be used with the English version.

The following sites work without a login and don't wrap the .zip file in an annoying .exe at the time of this writing.

Under Windows, just install the demo normally and then use the Windows installer for Arx Libertatis.
